10 Brands Doing Great Things Right Now
Meet the businesses, big and small, who are doing incredible things, and whose generosity and spirit deserves to be celebrated!
We've said it before and we'll say it again: if there's one good thing that comes out of bad situations, it's seeing people come together to support each other and do great things. And, while it's true that there are some businesses that haven't, shall we say, put their best foot forward in all of this, there are others big and small, who are doing incredible things, and whose generosity and spirit deserves to be celebrated. Here’s just a few of our highlights from the past few weeks!

Upcircle Beauty

Upcircle Beauty, a vegan and cruelty-free beauty brand who create skincare products from leftover natural ingredients, have sent out pamper kits as a token of gratitude to NHS staff. After launching the scheme, they had more than 700 requests in the first HOUR alone from people nominating someone they knew on the frontline that could use some love!

Dalston’s

The soda and seltzer company are working in partnership with Pilot Light, a group dedicated to opening up conversations about mental health within the hospitality industry, on their #SelfCareAndShare initiative, aimed at tackling feelings of isolation and sharing tips for how to cope. For every can of their alcohol-free G+T purchased via their Amazon shop, a portion will go to charity.

Barry’s

London’s boldest fitness studio managed to raise £37k for the NHS Charities Together fund by hosting a 12-hour Instagram Live workout, and they’ve now launched Barry’s Cares, with trainers pledging IG lives all the way through lockdown, manning a phone service for anyone just in need of a chat – many are Mental Health First Aid trained – as well as providing virtual activities for kids and isolation menus on request.

Deliciously Ella

Deliciously Ella donated over £150,000 of snacks to those working day and night in our NHS. Describing the donation as one of their proudest moments, the team said on their Instagram: “We’re lost in gratitude and admiration for everything you do. Thank you so much, and thank you to everyone that’s bought our snacks and supported us along the way. We couldn’t have made this donation without your ongoing support.”

For many people up and down the country the financial cost of the covid-19 will be huge, so this sustainable activewear brand are donating 10% of their sales to The Trussell Trust, who support a network of UK foodbanks. Already a busy service, last year the Trussell Trust helped provide 1.6 MILLION three-day emergency food packs.

TOTM

TOTM, who produce organic cotton tampons, sanitary pads and liners, were made aware that, due to stockpiling, a group of nurses in Southampton had been unable to get hold of period products: “The NHS staff are working SO hard to keep us all safe, the least they deserve is easy access to this essential item,” they said in an Instagram post. To say thank you to these health heroes they sent a mix of period products to make their lives that little bit easier.
