A Message From Our Founder

It’s been one heck of a few weeks!
We hope that you are all staying safe and calm at home, and are looking out for one another.
At Balance Festival, stepping outside of our comfort zone has always been at the core of our philosophy. Nonetheless, in the last few weeks we have, like everyone else, been challenged like never before.
Overnight, our needs, priorities and state of mind have shifted.
No matter how hard it has been, we must remember that every challenge provides an opportunity to grow further and develop our strengths. Pulling through this crisis will take a serious shift in mindset, and that isn’t easy, especially when anxiety comes into play.
Panic breeds panic, but calm triggers strength.
Calmness brings you to the present – a state of mind where you can let go what you can’t control and focus on what’s in your power right now.
Finding compassion, gratefulness for what we have and doing our bit to be part of the solution is at the core of that shift in mindset. Covid-19 is a reminder that we are all intrinsically connected to one another.
In many ways, what we’ve experienced has taken us through the stages of anticipatory grief. We’ve gone through a state of denial (it won’t happen), to a state of bargaining with ourselves (we’ll all stay at home for three weeks and things will be normal again), to a state of sadness and eventually an acceptance that we don’t know how long this will last or how bad it will be.
Acceptance, too, brings you to the present, to making peace with the reality that the world might not be the same as before. It’s okay not to know. It’s okay not to be in control.
So now, the important question is: What are we going to do about it?
When the storm clears, Balance Festival will return to provide a much-needed platform for all things health and wellness.
In the meantime, we will do our bit to support our community by sharing with you knowledge, news and ideas to help you navigate these challenging times.
Thank you for your continued support, and for now I'll leave you with a few uplifting activities to try weekend!
Stay indoors. Stay safe. Stay strong.
