We caught up with Eddie Carrington to get prepped ahead of his highly anticipated class….
Why should people come to your class? What can they expect?
We’ve put together a fusion of two of our signature classes. Best Butt Ever is strategically designed not only to strengthen, tone and define your glutes, but there are also core exercises added to improve overall wellness. We’ve also weaved our musically driven The CUT class into this program, which is an intense cardio-based kickboxing/boxing format that concentrates on taking your technique, stamina, endurance and speed to the next level. This is tough, you will sweat, but you’ll leave knowing you’ve completed an incredible and effective session.
Benefits include: fat loss, strength building, shape and definition of lower body and core.
Can you give us any tips to prepare for your class at Balance?
1) If you’re not already, start incorporating consistency into your weekly workout routines. A minimum of two sessions a week for thirty minutes each session is great place to start. If you’re already consistently working out, add classes that have movements choreographed to the beat of the music to your programme.
2) Improve one thing about your eating habits each week leading up to the workshop. Whether it’s increasing the amount of water you drink each week, eating every three hours, decreasing the amount of sugar you consume, etc. When we’re “good” to food, food is “good” to us. Making smart/healthy choices will help improve your performance on the day of the class.
What's your top exercise for a best butt?
The squat: A squat is a compound, full body exercise that trains primarily the muscles
of the thighs
, quadriceps hamstrings
, as well as strengthening the bones
and insertion of the tendons
throughout the lower body. Squats are considered a vital exercise for increasing the strength and size
of the legs and buttocks.
Jonathan Dick, Tier X Personal Training Coach Equinox Kensington says:
“Your glutes are one of your body’s best assets, supporting them through training will help you maintain optimal knee, hip and spine health, improve your posture, running technique and overall athletic performance. As they possess both fast and slow twitch muscle fibers, an effective training program should include a variety of loads and rep ranges.”
