5 Virtual Fitness Events Taking Place This Weekend
Looking for a way to get moving and make a positive contribution to someone else’s life this weekend? Between virtual charity fitness festivals and the first ever #MoveForTheCulture, a global day of cultural celebration and fundraising classes, you'll have no shortage of options. So, what events should you be checking out?

Digme: The Big Weekender

Spread over two days, this virtual festival will let you get your sweat on with yoga, HIIT and cycle workouts led by instructors including Sarah Malcom, Austyn Farrell and Darren Placid. For something more chill, there’s also a meditation session with Maude Hirst, and a whole host of workshops including Yoga Nidra, discussions on food and diet culture, and a summer roll making workshop.

All profits from the weekend will go to Juvenis, a charity offering bespoke support and training to enable young people having difficulties at school, at home or in the community to turn around their lives and (re)engage with employment, education or training. They also support Milk and Honey Bees an expressive safe space that allows young women and girls flourish and take ownership of H.E.R (Healing, Empowerment and Resilience) through 1:1 sessions and creative group projects.

Ianthe Mellors

Having founded #MoveForTheCulture with the intention of celebrating Black cultures, getting people moving, changing the lack of diversity and accessibility within the fitness industry, and fundraising for organisations supporting the black community and fighting racism, Ianthe Mellors’ sessions are leading the way when it comes to having something for everyone.

At 2pm on Sunday she’ll be hosting an age 60+ move & mobility class via Zoom, with donations going to Colour of Change, who design powerful campaigns to end practices that unfairly hold Black people back and champion solutions that influence progress.

At 3pm she’s hopping over to the Sweaty Better Insta for a HIIT + Move class, featuring cardio and dance. Donations to The Loveland Foundation, who bring opportunity and healing to communities of colour, and especially to Black women and girls through fellowships, residency programs, listening tours, and more.

Not to leave the little ones out, there will also be a 15mins exercise for kids with Itanthe and PT Caroline Bragg available to download via the link in her bio from 20th June onwards.
