We can't wait for Lauren's talk - "How to build a profitable online business as a Wellness expert" - Friday 19th May at Balance Festival
Outline your business in 1-2 sentences
I am a business coach for wellness experts; helping them to master the business side of things! We help them to nail the sales and marketing aspect so that they can transform more lives, including their own.
What is your business’ purpose/mission?
To give wellness experts across nutrition, movement, therapy and more... the tools and knowledge they need to run a successful, profitable online business.
What has caused the biggest shift/growth in your business?
Digital marketing can be overwhelming; but when you keep it simple, focused and create a systemised marketing funnel... it can be very predictable and very scalable. Over the last 6 months my team and I have focused on exactly this... and it's skyrocketing our impact and growth. Coupled with having the best business partnership in the world – I couldn't do it without my husband, Jamie, our partner, Hannah – and our lean but powerful team!
What are the greatest challenges and opportunities within your sector?
Many wellness experts do not realise the possibilities that exist for them. So part of our mission is to help them to see what is possible when they master the business side of things. This is also the greatest opportunity... as once they do, they can truly become profitable. And that leads to greater impact, greater freedom and greater financial certainty. A wonderful byproduct is that hundreds, thousands or even millions of lives change along the way.
What do you think is the next big thing in the world of Wellness?
The impact of AI is hard to comprehend but there is no doubt that it is going to change everything – particularly in the field of personalised health. This is definitely a space to watch.
What is your best piece of advice for budding entrepreneurs?
The silent killer in an online business... is complexity. Thinking you have to do everything (or trying to...) will absolutely lead to overwhelm... and it's really not necessary. I encourage wellness experts to keep it simple... focus on serving clients 1:1 with a clear, transformational program that enables them to earn £5-8k p/month, then explore more passive programs like courses or memberships. Also to focus on one client avatar and a laser-focused niche. I teach all of this inside my foundational program – Consistent Clients.
How do you set yourself up for a successful day?
Since becoming a parent, my mornings have changed dramatically! For now, the pin-up morning routine of meditation and/or yoga has been parked and instead I'm usually making porridge for our toddler, drinking a coffee, wrestling him into some clothes and then sitting at my desk by about 9:00am to start my work day. I wouldn't change it for the world!
How do you maintain a work-life balance?
I outsource as much as possible (both in my business and in my life) and give myself permission not to be some kind of superwoman. It helps to see life in seasons... and that things won't be that way forever. I have had seasons of working all hours under the sun... and now I have a lot more balance because of the way we have built our business (lots of systems and automation) so that I can spend as much time as possible with my son.
Lauren will be speaking at Balance Festival on Friday 19th May at 11am.
